Re. HEBRON SCHOOL AFFILIATIONS

 1.                Introduction: Established in 1899, Hebron is an independently managed International co-educational Christian Residential School.  It is recognised by the Government of India with permission to follow the English National Curriculum which culminates in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education examinations (year 11), and the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level - A S examinations (year 12) and A 2 (year 13). Hebron is independent of any Church, Mission or Christian organization. It is registered as a Society in India and the State of Tamil Nadu (No. 1/1919/1920 dated 26/07/1919; 01/03/1984).

 2.                Indian Government Recognition: Hebron School is an International School, recognised by the Director of Public Instruction, Madras (R.C. NO. 766 E/12 of 8th August 1913), accredited by the Associated Examining Board, an Overseas Centre for the GCE O and A Level (AXO No. 32 of 7th April 1964), permitted by the Union Government of India, Department of Education to conduct the GCE O and A Level examinations (No. F 24-7/64-U4 of 6th August 1964) and permitted by the Reserve Bank of India to employ foreign nationals as teachers (No.F 18/42/EC/80 of 7th August 1987). Hebron was first recognized as a ‘European School’ following the Code of Regulations for European Schools in India (1912).

 3.                Examination Boards: Hebron is a recognized centre of the following U.K. exam boards:

·         Cambridge International Examinations (C.I.E.) No. IN 105

·         Edexcel (London) No. 93041

·         Assessment and Qualification Alliance (AQA) No. 74809

In addition, Hebron has been accepted as a centre for SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test for USA university admission) School No. 671671 and AP (Advanced Placement) School No. 671671

 4.                Professional Affiliations: Hebron is a member of the following U.K. professional bodies:

·         The Independent School Christian Alliance (TISCA)

 

 

 

 

 

·         The Society of Headmasters and Headmistresses of Independent Schools (SHMIS)

 

In the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu Hebron is a member of ‘The Association of Heads of English-speaking Schools in the Nilgiris.

 5.                Close Associations: We are closely linked to ‘The Association of Christian Schools International’ (ACSI). Our ‘Link School’, Dean Close School (Cheltenham, U.K.) is a member of The Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference (HMC).

 Hebron has strong links with Woodstock School, Mussoorie (India), an American MSA recognized school. Hebron’s Principal is a member of the Woodstock Board of Directors. Hebron also has close associations with Kodaikanal International School (KIS), Tamil Nadu (India). Kodaikanal International School is an American curriculum School which also offers the International Baccalaureate (I.B.).
