We study the Schauplatz course book which covers the two years of
the A level syllabus in German. There are three sections: a transition
section to help students to cope with the step up from GCSE, then: |

An AS section covering the following topics:

- Food and health
- The media
- Rights and responsibilities
- Work
- Literature
The AS examination is taken
at the end of Std. 12 and consists of three papers: Listening and Writing,
Reading And Writing, and Oral. There
is no coursework.
The AS examination makes up 50% of the full A level. |

- Ethical issues
- Future hopes and plans
- Politics and history
The A2 papers are taken at the end of Std. 13 and consist of the
following: Listening and Writing, Reading and Writing, Writing in
registers, Topics and texts (literature) and Oral. There is no coursework.
