August 2005 Reunion-Celebrating 30 years of Co-education
Plans are coming together for celebrating over 30 years of co-education. We also want to recognize leavers who are marking their 25th year as alumni.
The schedule is as follows:
August 1st -9th
This will be fairly informal time with trips planned as requested to revisit familiar places of the past.
August 10th
We plan to feature a Coonoor day for those who are interested in revisiting the old school (titch Heb). A morning tour of the campus, with a morning tea on site will be arranged. Lunch and tea will be at Brooklands with the afternoon free to rest or visit some of the local spots such as Sim’s Park or Lamb’s Rock. For the more energetic a quick climb up Tenerife may be in order.
August 11th-12th
As classes will start on the 11th you will be able to see the school as it is today. You will be welcome to spend time on campus and may attend any on going activities including assemblies or after school events that the students are involved in. Campus tours will be arranged for those who would like to be shown around the grounds officially.
Morning and afternoon tea will be available, as well as being able to sign in for lunch on the days of your choice.
August 13th
Saturday promises to be an exciting occasion with one or more sports events to be planned in which staff, students and alumni can participate together. Whether you choose to be involved actively or cheer enthusiastically from the sidelines, it will be a fun time for all!
In the evening we are planning a more formal time with a dinner to which available staff and select students will also be invited. This may be an opportunity for an informal ‘variety concert’ from staff and students.
August 14th
Sunday, a day of rest!
A list of churches will be included in your welcome packet for those interested in attending services.
**The commencement service has been shifted to Monday to accommodate students away for the long weekend.**
August 15th
There will be a flag hoisting ceremony in the morning, as it is India’s Independence Day. You are welcome to participate in this celebration after which the students usually go on outings, as it is a national holiday.
In the evening all are welcome to attend the commencement service.
Costs:
Registration fee will be Rs 500/- This is to be paid on arrival.
For those of you who would like to eat some of your meals on campus an extra Rs 250/- can be paid along with the registration fee, to cover the cost of this.
Please note that all costs relating to travel, accommodation and off campus activities will be at the participant’s expense. The exception to this will be the Coonoor trip for which the school will cover the expenses relating to transport and food.
Travel and accommodation:
Special rates are being arranged at several of the hotels. Please contact us for details.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and we will be happy to help in any way that we can. Please contact your link person or the alumni office directly if you intend to come.
