FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE (December 2007) In recent months work has been done to establish a meeting / resource room for the Department of Personal Development in the ‘Treetops’ building. The Music Department now has its own computer room – primarily for IGCSE and A level Music. The main work underway is the renovation of the Assembly Hall. This building dates to the 1950’s and is now too small for regular assemblies, major plays and concerts. Keeping within the strict planning regulations on the Lushington campus, the building is having a gallery installed (for increased seating capacity), a sound and lighting box and a new roof (to replace the existing asbestos sheets). We hope to have the facility back in use by February 2008 with a formal re-dedication in the April Parents’ Week. It will be renamed, with permission from Mrs. Gladys Staines, ‘the Graham Staines Memorial Hall’. Please see the photos in our picture gallery. Further work this year includes re-tarring the main drive and continuing with the Big Pitch retaining walls.
