Combine two new (guy) SC co-presidents, one completely unexperienced executive and nine hours of preparation with an unlimited amount of stress and you have the formula for ‘Moosika ki-fel-oo’ – the senior school event held on the 5th of May.
With the exception of no one being able to pronounce the actual name of the event, the jazz café was actually a success! Students from Standard 10 to 13 filed into the sports hall tired, depressed and generally disillusioned with life. The change on everyone’s countenances was visible as they entered into the fairy-light filled lounge that the sports hall had been transformed into.
With the comfortable arrangements, laid-back atmosphere and amazing performances by various staff, IGs and students it was an ideal event for the weekend before exams.

Highlights include Mrs Pardue singing ‘Summertime’ in her remarkable voice, accompanied by some of our schools most skilled guitarists – James Hasdak, Song Kim and of course our beloved Mr Ashing. Of course all the performances were outstanding, especially the ones by the Standard 13 leavers – the song by Nihal seemed to summarise what a lot of them are probably feeling right now!
All in all, it was a great night, ending with a movie to wrap up the evening. And as Student Council we are thankful to God that it all turned out as a success.
