For those who don’t know, Roald Dahl is a famous author who had an amazing imagination. Some of his books are ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘James and the Giant Peach’, ‘The Twits’, ‘Revolting Rhymes’ and many more. On his birthday people celebrate his life and do activities about the books he wrote. On Roald Dahl Day we did many things in Junior School. When we got up we were all excited about the day. We went to school and we found the teachers dressed in funny costumes. We also wore costumes—some were Matilda, Charlie and others wore their clothes back to front or wore yellow, which was Roald Dahl’s favourite colour. In assembly we had quizzes and poems by Roald Dahl. Then we went on parade on the basketball court and showed off our costumes. Then we felt like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory because we were given chocolates and there were five golden tickets.
The winners won a Willy Wonka Bar and a chocolate bar each Friday until the end of term. In class our teacher was the BFG. We had to speak using big words like ‘wizzgiggle’ and ‘frobscottle’. We made a drink called Frobscottle — which is from the book ‘The BFG’. Other classes made Roly Poly birds, chocolate recipes and Enormous Crocodiles. Everybody had a wonderful day. We were all so happy.
