The school exams ended on Friday to be followed by a Staff v. Students ladies’ football match. Saturday dawned warm and sunny with a bright blue sky…

  • The annual Christmas Fayre was held in the Lushington dining hall. Charities from south India came to sell their wares…’Freedom Firm’ decorated bags and hot water bottle covers; CMS batik work; Toda black and red shawls; Agape bookshop Bibles and cassettes; Ooty craft candles; ‘Little Sisters of charity’ goodies; Farley honey and cakes; MUT greetings’ cards…Staff, students and local parents came to buy their gifts for families and friends.

  • The Student Council organized a mammoth 3-a-side basketball competition on the outside court: boys and girls of all ages took part in this competition which had points handicaps to even out the older and younger teams.

  • The Student Council arranged a 5-a-side football competition at ‘Ebenezer’ Dorm for Junior School children. This utilized for the first time the new grass pitch alongside the Dorm as well as the play area to the front. Nearly all of the 80 JS children were there along with parents and friends as supporters.

  • The Student Council then arranged a special supper and a movie for the Junior School – to be shown in the newly opened Drama Studio.

  • Std. 8 Dorms had an evening ‘real live’ game of “Cluedo” around the grounds of Lushington Hall.

  • The A levels arranged games on the Big Pitch for local children from Ooty. This was followed by carols in the Staff Room and a big meal in the dining hall. The evening finished with a cartoon version of the Nativity being screened.

  • Std. 7 completed their week of activities at the Avalanche Scripture Union outdoor centre.

  • The music department put together the final preparations for Sunday’s Joint Carol Service to be hosted at Hebron. Several staff transformed the Sports’ Hall into a colourful and festive auditorium for the occasion

  • We enjoyed a visit from a Hebronite (class of 1989) who was visiting after 18 years with his wife and children! His oft repeated comment was ‘amazing!’

  • Many students and some staff are away for the weekend on  a Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition

  • Most staff are busy with school exam and SAT marking as well as report writing…

Just another active and productive day in the life of Hebron School.

‘To God be the glory – great things He has done’.

 Deo Supremo.
