Hebron Staff

Hebron School is home to a diverse multicultural community of around 30 nationalities, with two attractive campuses in the beautiful Nilgiri Hills of south India for accommodation. Hebron employs approximately 65 teachers and 35 administrative personnel. Staff members come from India, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Kenya, South Africa, South Korea, and Europe. As a boarding school, Hebron's residential care is personalised and aims to create a home away from home. 


Leadership Team

Principal – Mr Richard Naylor

Mr. Naylor joined Hebron as Principal in 2023 and also teaches Mathematics. He holds a Master's degree in Medieval History and has over twenty years of experience teaching History, Mathematics, and Religious Studies, as well as serving in various leadership positions in the UK, Russia, and China. Additionally, Mr Naylor is also a GCSE mathematics examiner. He has engaged in various part-time roles in different educational positions since 2019, supporting students with educational needs, particularly post-Covid. Mr. Naylor has been leading Hebron School through its important 125th year, achieving significant milestones while celebrating its rich history and traditions.

Vice Principal (Student Welfare) – Mr Bene Medhurst

Mr Medhurst joined Hebron as a Physical Education (PE) teacher in 2020 with his wife Rachel and three sons. He first came to Hebron as an IG in 2008, assisting primarily in the PE department, before returning to the UK where he trained as a PE teacher and spent more than a decade teaching and serving in various leadership roles. He is a keen sportsman and loves rugby, football, running and cycling. He assumed the role of Vice Principal - Student Welfare in 2023 whilst continuing to serve as a dedicated PE teacher. He is passionate about continuing to develop the outstanding pastoral care at Hebron in order to see each of our young people thriving and growing into the people that God has created them to be.

Vice Principal (Academics) – Mr Sunil Varghese

Mr Varghese joined Hebron School in 2016 assuming the roles of both an A Level and GCSE English Language and Literature Teacher, and a Dorm Parent. His partner in this endeavour is his wife, Rebika. Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr Varghese is also an accomplished musician and composer, having contributed to multiple albums alongside his collaborative team based in Nepal. A deep-seated passion lies in his commitment to enriching lives, particularly those of the youth. He desires to sow seeds of positivity and growth within the lives of those he encounters.

Interim Vice Principal (Administration) – Ms Padma Raman 

Ms. Raman's journey with Hebron School started in 2001 when she joined the Junior School. For close to two decades, she dedicated herself to this role nurturing young minds until she was appointed as the school librarian in 2018. During this tenure, she further extended her influence by curating a rich repository of knowledge and resources for the students. As the guardian of the school's literary treasures, she inspired generations of learners, encouraging them to explore the world through books and fostering a lifelong love for reading. Ms. Raman is a native of the Nilgiri Hills and belongs to the Badaga community.
