A-Levels

Standard 12-13 (Ages 16-18)

Creating an environment to prepare students to grow and function in a civilised society, Hebron equips our young adults with analytical, reasoning and decision-making skills. The two years of A-level training are focused on equipping our students to choose and accomplish a suitable career path.

Chemistry A-levels

A-levels gives students the opportunity to apply rigour and discipline to their studies. It is these skills, alongside the ability to be consistent that stands students in such good stead, no matter which university or career path they opt for after leaving Hebron.

A-level preparation at Hebron encourages students to channel their passion to their chosen subjects, enabling them to gain places for their desired courses at leading universities throughout the world. An A-level course takes two years to complete, and the majority are linear, which means that students are assessed on all of their learning at the end of the second academic year. Students receive an AS-level after being tested on the topics covered in their first year of study. When these results are combined with the examination from their second year of study, they receive a full A-level.

A-levels gives students the opportunity to apply rigour and discipline to their studies. It is these skills, alongside the ability to be consistent that stands students in such good stead, no matter which university or career path they opt for after leaving Hebron.

Hebron also offers International Project Qualification (IPQ), an exciting project-based qualification that allows students to investigate and develop an academic study in a field of their choice. Students gain research and communication skills that will be useful in their future university studies. In addition to valuing academic achievement, Hebron provides numerous opportunities for students to develop socially and holistically as they prepare for the challenges of life after school. Hebron is a community, and A-level students play an important role in it as role models and leaders.

Head of A-Levels
Graham Twigger

Mr Twigger is Head of History and Head of A-levels. He has worked previously in different countries with his wife Zohary. Together they were dorm parents at Hebron between 1999-2002.

It is a special community and though I have had the privilege of working in very good schools I always wanted to come back. After almost a year teaching online, I was able to physically meet students and work in the community again on campus.

I am currently in my fourth year of our second spell at Hebron. I enjoy both the academic and social aspects of my role in helping prepare students for life after Hebron.
