Enhanced Learning
ALL StandardS
Every child is unique, with different qualities, skills, strengths, and vulnerabilities.
Children with specific and moderate learning difficulties are supported and assisted along with training on English as an Additional Language (EAL) — a vital service provided by only a few schools in India.
Hebron continuously observes and assesses each student's abilities, disabilities, strengths, and weaknesses in order to create a plan that can assist and support individuals in whatever area they need. The Department of Enhanced Learning (DEL) has been an integral part of the school since its inception in 1996. The department identifies and supports students who require alternative learning approaches from the time they begin the admissions process until they complete their final exams. DEL offers strategies for assisting students in their classes, advice on teaching methods that are effective for specific disabilities, teaching assistants, and specialised tuition for students.
Children with specific and moderate learning difficulties are supported and assisted along with training on English as an Additional Language (EAL) — a vital service provided by only a few schools in India. An Individual Education Plan (IEP) is formulated for each identified student, which includes information about their learning needs, alternative instructional strategies, and test and exam accommodations/ alternatives. Trained teachers and staff address various learning difficulties under the guidance and advice of a psychologist.
The department collaborates with class teachers to incorporate classroom and subject-specific vocabulary, enabling for a close working relationship between academic departments and DEL. This also aids students' integration into mainstream classes.
