Spiritual Activities

Hebron is a dynamic, non-denominational Christian community where students are encouraged to develop and strengthen their faith for the benefit of both themselves and the wider community. While fostering their beliefs through activities such as assemblies, activities, and dorm gatherings, students also engage in initiatives that serve the local community. One such initiative is the Soup Run, held every week, where interested A-level students and staff distribute hot tea, soup, and buns to those in need around Ooty. This activity not only supports the homeless but also strengthens ties with the local community.

Students are given numerous opportunities to lead and participate in community-focused activities with dorm parents and staff. Students and staff meet weekly for prayer breakfast and age-appropriate gatherings like Youth Fellowship, 7Up, and Mettle. They can join committees that organise events and lead meetings, enhancing their leadership skills in the process. These meetings further enrich their spiritual journey, allowing for meaningful discussions and personal growth.

The Soup Run and similar activities exemplifies how Hebron students learn to engage with the community, developing empathy and communication skills. Many students have even learned basic Tamil phrases to better connect with the locals, illustrating their commitment to making a positive impact. Through these activities, Hebron fosters a sense of responsibility and community service, helping students become fruitful members of both their faith and local communities, regardless of their individual faith perspective.
